WHAT IS ADVANCE PLANNING WITH A
CEMETERY TRUST?
Advance Planning is simply an expression of love to your family by providing a plan for your final resting place before it is needed. This procedure can be planned by yourself or with family members. Scheduling is at your convenience. Arrangements can be specific or general. All burial options are identified including cremation and immediate disposition. Features for cemetery arrangements are full service and can also include memorialization. Generally, all expenses are established and paid for before services are actually needed.

Advance Planning answers many personal yet important questions that without it, survivors may not know. Survivors are given the assurance that the arrangements, made in advance, are an extension of your life. With Advance Planning in place, survivors can adequately reflect upon their memories, eliminating unnecessary stress or conflicts while making last-minute decisions.

Advance Planning lifts financial burdens from your survivors. By pre-paying cemetery expenses, you will provide the peace of mind that your family will not incur unexpected burial expenses. Families are free to spend time and energy in other important preparations.
WHAT IS A CEMETERY TRUST?
A Cemetery Trust is an agreement between you and the cemetery of your choice in which money is deposited to pay for cemetery expenses before needed. A pre-paid Cemetery Trust is a legal document. All monies are deposited within a legally authorized banking institution. Your funds remain in the custody of the bank until they are needed to pay for the arrangements you have made with the execution of your Preneed Cemetery Contract. All trusts are invested according to state statute.

In our opinion, a pre-paid AFCTS Cemetery Trust is an excellent method to pre-pay for cemetery expenses.
- Your Cemetery Trust is flexible. You may revoke, alter, or amend your trust whenever or however you choose.
- Cemetery Trusts can be made on behalf of another person such as a dependent relative or friend.
- AFCTS Cemetery Trusts earn favorable rates of interest providing inflation protection.
- A properly established trust is allowed under the Federal Supplemental Security Income and Medicaid guidelines to shield funds from being used as accountable resources. An AFCTS Cemetery Trust may be established before or after going on state assistance to insure money will be available for cemetery expenses
